National Issues :-
The destruction of mother earth and ecosystem has increased over the last 50 years in India due to nature-averse education, national-level water crisis, destruction of indigenous cattle, and use of harmful chemicals in agriculture. Hybrids and genetically modified seeds pose a threat to native farming and pure fruits. Addiction to tobacco and gutkha has drowned the youth.
Human values such as work ethic and self-reliance went berserk, as did morality. The government had no solution to these burning issues. At that time, Mansukhbhai Suvagiya started a check-dam program in 1999 at the age of 35.
- At present, Mansukhbhai Suvagiya is the owner of Flotech Engineering Company at Shapar (Dist. Rajkot). It is a leading manufacturing company in water pumps.
- He established Jalkranti Trust in 2002 with the objective of national service and to solve various environmental issues. This trust is a public institution.
1. Check-dam scheme:
1. Organization of village people 2. Public fund collection 3. Proper site selection for check-dam 4. Inventing a cost effective and 100 years long-lasting design by Mansukhbhai 5. Labour Contribution
As a result of this scheme, more than 3000 check-dams were built in more than 300 villages without the assistance of the government. In over 4000 old-stone mines, rain water was recharged.
Model village Jamka: 51 check-dams were constructed with public funds at the cost of only 10 lakh rupees with the help of 10,000 days of labour. Due to this infrastructure, people of this village reap three crops a year; four other villages also benefitted from this project.
- By implementing the check-dam scheme, the village has increased agricultural production and employment by 100 to 200 percent. This has resulted in a prosperous environment. Check-dams are the most economical, environmentally friendly, and self-sufficient way to save the world from water crisis.
2. Gir-Kankrej Cow Project: (since 2000):
In a different way from Gauseva-Jivdaya
1. Raising cows at home
2. Breeding of cows
3. Including cow milk, buttermilk, and ghee in the diet
4. Using cow dung, cow urine and oxen for agricultural purposes
5. Villages without a water crisis
6. Castration of street bulls
7. The abandonment of cow hybridization
With these principles in mind, he decided to rear 10 lakh Gir cows, 11 lakh Kankrej cows, and to safeguard 55 endangered species of Indian cows.
With this new scheme, the extinct Gir-Kankraj cow-breed has become famous. The number of Gir-Kankrej cows has increased from 25 thousand to more than five lakh. The number of native cows in the villages has increased up to 80
to 400 in place of 10 to 50. With the best breeding from Nandi, the milk production of cows has increased from 1000 litres to 2500-3000 litres. There are millions of people who have access to pure milk, ghee, and buttermilk.
3. Cow-based agriculture: (since 2006)
Seeing the devastating effects of toxic chemicals, he started cow-based natural farming using cow dung and urine, gave many successful demonstrations of natural farming, and discovered liquid organic fertilizers and natural disease-controllers. He went from village to village and guided many thousands of farmers which increased the production in more than 60 crops, saved upto 20% in pesticides and fertilizers, saved water upto 30 to 40 %.
These tasty vegetables and crops have been tested by laboratories which contain the best nutrients. This new farming method has nearly doubled the farmer’s profit per acre. Earth and groundwater have become pure again. The ecosystem is revived again.
Pure milk, ghee, fruits and vegetables have bestowed health and efficiency to village people. the ratio of infertility, caesarean and abortion has decreased. Babies are found to be healthy and vital at birth.
4. Gau-krushi Gruh Udyog (since 2004)
From time immemorial, the prices of farmers’ products were decided by buyers. This exploited the farmers a lot. To solve this issue, direct selling of milk, ghee, butter, pure fruit and vegetables was started by Jalkranti Trust which stopped the exploitation and for the first time, farmers have become self-reliant.
Even the people of big cities have received these nutrients-rich vegetables and grains. Gau-krushi Udyog is the backbone of prosperous and agricultural India.
5. The indigenous (Desi) mango trees and divine trees conservation program:
Hybrid and genetically modified seeds have done great harm to the environment. So Mansukhbhai successfully secured more than 100 best varieties of native mango trees and decided to conserve 100 divine herbs and to plant their seeds in 100 villages. He has successfully achieved this goal.
6. Addiction free people – addiction free India (since 2005)
Processed Tobacco, misleading ads of Gutkha has drowned the young generation of India. 50 lakh to 5 crore rupees are wasted in addiction in every village per annum.Addiction to drugs plays a major role in diseases, infertility and many social issues. To solve this national issue, Adivasi village – Bhekhadia (district Chhota udepur) and village – Jamli (district Alirajpur, MP) were made the first addiction-free villages in the country. till date, more than 2 lakh people have become addiction-free.
7. Divya Gram Yojna: (since 2018)
With the aim of all-round development of the village along with the protection of environment, Divyagram Yojna has come true in tribal villages-Bhekhadia and Jamli (Madhya Pradesh) for protection and development of water-land-forest-ecosystem and to remove poverty and superstition in people.
